Why would teachers want to blog?

We live in a world filled with technology today. It seem that everybody is talking to themselves in the grocery store or in their car. If you look real closely, you will see a bluetooth earpiece in their ear and they happen to be speaking to be someone else who is probably doing the same thing in their car! It sure does look funny. Cell phones are amazing. People do everything on them. They take pictures, surf the net, check emails, text people (even teachers now) and actually talk on them.

So why would any teacher wanna get sucked into this world of technology?? Because, its what everybody is doing!!! Email is wonderful for the student and teacher. Students don't have to leave phone messages and teachers don't have to call them back. There is no phone tag is the point I'm getting at. Granted it may be a bit impersonal, but it gets the job done. Blogging is kind of like an email. Students can ask questions they have for the teacher, and they can answer on their blog. This also helps if other students have the same questions, they can check the blog. This save times for both parties. Its also a way of having reminder notices for parents and students. It keeps everybody on the same page. Most people that I have come across seem to accept blogging as a tool in the classroom. It depends on the grade levels. For elementary school students, parents will get better use but in high school, both parents and students benefit.

Grade for blogging in the classroom =A
