Learning via technology is key route to educational improvement says research
This was a good read. It speaks about technology helping education improvement. Who ca argue with that? As times change, students and teachers are learning with technology. Technology is everywhere now. I remember playing video games when I was a kid, there was only 1 or 2 buttons!!!! Now there 8 buttons and you can play someone else in a different country online!! Even cell phones are amazing tools of technology. It makes thing easier. My only concern is low income families. There will be computers at school for use, but poor families cannot afford computers and a $50 bill every month for Internet. The study in this article shows that technology showed improvement in test scores and how it brings students and teachers closer with communication. The issue we need to focus on is how are we going to reach the low income students. Other than that, it seems that for the most part, technology helps and its something we use in our everyday lives to survive.

Self-Efficacy Beliefs as an Indicator of Teachers' Preparedness for Teaching with Technology
Self-Efficacy Beliefs as an Indicator of Teachers' Preparedness for Teaching with Technology
This is very long and dry read. Teaching with technology is great. The issue here is, the teachers have to go back to school!! Teachers who are a bit older have issues relearning new system, especially the tech world. For younger teachers, they most likely had computers all through out school which makes it easier to learn as a tool in the classroom. eventually, all teachers will use technology in teaching, especially computers. People believe in themselves when they are confident in what they are doing. Soon all teachers will be confident becasue they will have gone to school an worked with computers. It will be 2nd nature. Teachers will be able to better preper themselves becuase they are familiar with the content.

You are expected to be a professional as a teacher, everything on this list would not be considered professional. Never make friends with students is a great tip. Like the previous post (top 6 keys to become a successful teacher) you must present yourself as the authority. Gossiping shouldn’t happen anywhere, especially to students about other teachers!! Also mentioned in previous posts, treat students fairly, regardless of different opinons. Lets say there is a teacher that loves the Yankees and there is a student who loves the Red Sox. This is no reason to hold anything against the kid.

Top 6 keys to become a successful teacher
All keys listed are common sense. However, we need to teach ourselves common sense because its easy to forget. Teachers must have a sense of humor. That is the best advice on there, followed by being consistent. In consistency comes fairness. Treat all the same. No favoring certain children. Don’t give up on children, even if they give up. The last but not least is to present yourself as the authority, but in a positive way.

Top 10 Reasons to Become a Teacher
I agree with most the reasons on here. The few that stick out to me the most were. Staying young, humor, summers off and the most important one, making a difference in a child’s life and future. I grew up with a single mother and I did not have many male role models. There were a few teachers who I really looked up to both male and female. Its important to have more male teachers, so young boys grow up being comfortable around men. In many single parent situations, the father is missing and sometimes a male teacher can help fill that void. Teachers are more than teachers, and I look forward to the good and hard times. Teachers don’t teach for the money, because we all know that they could find other jobs that pay more with less responsibility. They do it because they care. They do it because you wont. They do it because they have to.

Why would teachers want to blog?
We live in a world filled with technology today. It seem that everybody is talking to themselves in the grocery store or in their car. If you look real closely, you will see a bluetooth earpiece in their ear and they happen to be speaking to be someone else who is probably doing the same thing in their car! It sure does look funny. Cell phones are amazing. People do everything on them. They take pictures, surf the net, check emails, text people (even teachers now) and actually talk on them.
So why would any teacher wanna get sucked into this world of technology?? Because, its what everybody is doing!!! Email is wonderful for the student and teacher. Students don't have to leave phone messages and teachers don't have to call them back. There is no phone tag is the point I'm getting at. Granted it may be a bit impersonal, but it gets the job done. Blogging is kind of like an email. Students can ask questions they have for the teacher, and they can answer on their blog. This also helps if other students have the same questions, they can check the blog. This save times for both parties. Its also a way of having reminder notices for parents and students. It keeps everybody on the same page. Most people that I have come across seem to accept blogging as a tool in the classroom. It depends on the grade levels. For elementary school students, parents will get better use but in high school, both parents and students benefit.
Grade for blogging in the classroom =A

concept to the classroom
My review on concept to the classroom
Concept to the classroom is another very interesting site. It’s a cool way to find out how kids learn in different ways. Anything that helps us as teachers reach children is a great help. I watched the videos and one of the teachers started the class by singing a song in Spanish, while another video showed kids going to the aquarium on a field trip. I didn’t spend too much time here, but I liked what I saw.
